Turkey Red in the Scottish Parliament

Following our successful ‘Show and Tell’ workshop in the Vale of Leven in December 2012, the ‘Colouring the Nation’ project was invited to mount an exhibition in the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood, with sponsorship from Jackie Baillie MSP for Dumbarton.

The exhibition was in the MSP’s area of the building, adjacent to the debating chamber.  Stana Nenadic and David Harvie, local historian from Dumbarton, were in attendance to brief government ministers, MSPs and Holyrood staff about the project and its community and business engagement dimensions.

A new Vale of Leven heritage trail booklet, written by David and published by West Dunbartonshire Council, which highlights the ‘Colouring the Nation’ NMS online exhibition and book, was also available.
